Seems to me that the young teacher is just going from the play book... and she nuh know how fi hangle de curve ball: a parent who is involved with her child's scholastic and extra-curricular activities; a child who's alert and attentive.

Is she expecting a response to her statements/questions, or has the moment passed? If it has, I suggest you continue to do as you have and attend the next meet but don't allow her to undermine your confidence (I am sensing that you were second guessing yourself for a moment) and make sure ask her clarify any cryptic comments she may have.

Her own clarification will hopefully teach her something: that an attentive child is <span style="text-decoration: underline">not</span> scary; doing school work at home with a view to staying ahead is A GOOD THING...
