my dad wouldnt let me back in the house til I beat the crap out of this bully. And I eas balwing with snot running down my nose the whole time while I gave her a bloody nose and eardrum (I was smacking her in the face and head with one of those wooden Candie shoes) I just wanted to go home but I had a job to do first.

Her parents came to complain and my parents were like oh no, there will be no turning the other cheek around here.

I tell you none of the neighborhood kids tried any -ish with me ever again

All I wanted was to sit on daddy's lap and eat some ice cream but instead I had to turn someone to dust first

but after that, all I had to do was raise my eyebrow when someone chatted -ish to me and it would stop

when my dad let me back in the house, all he did was shake his head because I was still crying


seriously though, to this day I still get the same mental set when someone takes me on like that. I dont like to fight but if you are gonna push me to that place then I have a &quot;job to do.&quot;

So in many ways it did good later on in life - although some would look at it differently.
You do very best to resolve a situation without throwing punches but if some one throws it <span style="font-weight: bold">first</span> you make sure you throw the last.

It funny and sad at the same time, eh? My mother used to tell us the same thing. My mother was a fighter. Always regaled us with tales of her beating down anyone who tried to mess with her whe she was a kid.

I on the other hand, have never been a fighter. I used words. But I guess they can sometimes be even more painful than physical blows...

I could not come home crying that I had been beat up or some such. Because if it did not end with me kicking someone's assets, then I would get mine kicked - by my mother - at least that was her threat, though she's never actually carried through with it... At the time I believed her though...

While I think they did this to toughen us up, I think it had the tendency to spawn many a bully, in a way...

As for me and my fighting, I used my brothers. If a girl looked to start something with me, I would just tell one brother in particular and he would take care of it... I did not want to know the details Jus as long as she nuh badda mi again...

I remember my encounter with the school bully. I was in the sixth grade. She was kicking butts and taking names constantly.

So one day she decided that my best friend would be her next victim. Lawd, she terroize my friend for a few weeks, pushing, slapping, pulling her hair and that sort of thing.

One day as school let out she pushed my friend down the school steps. I was burning up with anger about this time, I started to yell at my friend that she had to fight her back or she would not leave her alone (we are out of earshot of A). This advice was going in one ear and out the other.

Anyways one of the guys heard what I said and I guess he wanted to see a fight and he ran back and told A what I said.

Well as you can guess she caught up with us and confronted me about what I had said. She asked did I say that, I said yes and she hauled off and smacked the daylights out of me. I threw my books to the ground and the fight was on.

We were across the street from the school and Mrs.Willis (teacher) broke us up and a gave the both of us a tongue lashing about acting like alley cats!

Okay so the next day I am walking to school and who do I spot walking towards me? It is A (school bully) and I remember thinking okay here we go again.

She walked over and apologize told me she was sorry ray ray ray. We both got called into the principals office that morning and receive 3 licks for fighting!

I never had any further problems with her, neither did my best friend. I attended jr high with A, still no problems, however, by the time we reach Jr High she had calmed down quite a bit.
