in hindsight, i shouldnt have booked her for an hour long lesson - should have eased her in with a half hour. horseriding is one of a handful of sports that engages most of the muscles in the body (swimming and cross country skiing are two others).
the biggest exercise dawta had all summer was jumping up at caribana
it was a blazing hot day, and it was she and bo and the coach in that outdoor arena in the sun hot for a solid hour.
trotting the poles to ensure you're keeping your horse to the right rythm, look at all the dust

one of two water breaks (for dawta, not for poor bo ). this was near the end of the lesson and dawta was so exhausted and dehydrated her hand shook as she drank.
this video shows her penultimate ride over five jumps. she's been having about 40 minutes of hard, physical exercise by this point, in blazing sun. she clears all the jumps, but chips a couple, and at the end the coach tells her why.
this video shows her last try at the course of jumps in the lesson, she did a bit better than the last attempt. here, she rides a full circle first around the ring before starting the canter for the jumps.
after this, she was DONE! i had to brush down the horse for her and take off his tack (saddle and stuff) she was so tired.
but i was very proud of her, and very happy! she was too, which meant a lot to me. (((O)))

yes this one is still chatting bout horseback riding but as mi know she love change her mind mi will let her ask fi a likkle while more to ensure she is into it.
