thanks, Nan. she took to horses like how her sister took to swimming. no fear. one of these days we'll get her skills properly assessed by a qualified coach.

yes this one is still chatting bout horseback riding but as mi know she love change her mind mi will let her ask fi a likkle while more to ensure she is into it.

I like the fact that it works out all of your muscles cause miss thing <span style="font-weight: bold">needs</span> a sport </div></div>

let her do it anyway, keeyer. horseriding is good for developing both physical and mental toughness even if the riders do it for a short while. do u like horses?

Back in the saddle yet again



call it the Olympics effect

when i pulled up the thread, i realized the last time i posted about her riding was almost exactly 2 years ago.

she has ridden in the interim, of course. she joined her university's riding school last year, not for long though, the program seemed aimless, and lessons were expensive. She last rode in the spring of this year.

this is Penny. She's an appaloosa - those spotted horses. shes got brown ears


she's one of the new horses at O's old riding school. (yes, she went back &quot;home&quot;.) it was love at first sight




here Penny is lifting her leg to beg for a treat (another piece of apple). it is so cute another appaloosa, Vegas, used to do the same thing.

to say that O and Penny bonded would be an understatement. when O first met the horse, she regarded her, &quot;felt&quot; her spirit, which was very calm, then went up and started stroking her softly. the horse did not shy or toss her head, she just accepted O's administrations. magical

the ride was not very strenuous - both horse and rider were tired (it's the last week of camp for the riding school). dawta rode with another student who was more junior, but she didnt mind the slower pace.

so, we hadn't been back in two years to this riding school. it was o so good to have them remember O. so we wandered around and started asking for horses. a lot of them are gone, to another place or to the afterlife

Jewel, the winningest pony, developed colic and died



and mischef, who was the last horse O rode at the school before our big falling out...


...she has had her eyes removed and the lids sewn shut, but apparently other than that, she's happy, living at some horse rescue place. at least, i hope so, and is not some story the school administrator is telling me.

we shall see Ms Exced. it's a long shot. she's young and have time. just have to get the plan together and follow it.
