Cutting your mother out of your life?

What would be the reason for anyone to cut their mother out of their life?

There is an acquaintance who told me that her sister told her mother (who is dying of cancer) to not to call her anymore

Apparently they have been estranged for years.. but dang that sounds cold..

so mi a try get info as to why smaddy would a cut off dem modda fi years so and even when dem modda is ill just cold to dem so?

what are some reasons you would cut a parent out of your life?

i guess so.. but one child is close to the mother and the other hates the mother..

but i suspect the child that is close to the mother may be like the mother cause she is always full of drama

I would completely cut anyone out of my life if they have hurt me in a way that I was unable to forgive them. And I don't care who it is. Mother, father, sister, brother.


Right now my father is ailing and I could care less...

may also depend on the child..some are more sensitive..others can tek the hit and brush it off and don't let it bother them too much.

also maybe the mother had a preference for one child over the other, and didn't give both a them the same bad treatment

I dunno cause the wom an in question was close with her father (the spouse) and from what mi hear was instrumental in getting the father to move out of the house with them mother.

If the other daughter (the one who is close to the mother) is an example, I would say it might be the 'everything is drama and everyone does not like me' personality that could be the issue.

I think it was selective treatment imho..

cause you know the other daughter nah spill the beans.. but i will just bide mi time cause she love chat so mi know mi will get the full hundred

for me (in the case of my mother) I don't answer the phone at all (for the twice a year she trys to call me)

well apparently de dawta did do the same ting until the sista &amp; de modda call de cops fi find out if the dawta awright

de husband of the non-communative dawta tell dem seh de dawta noh want fi have anyting fi do wid dem... den de dawta come out and said the same to ar modda face..

so de modda &amp; oddadawta no chat to the non-communicative dawta

but

mi hear now seh de oddadawta (the lady I know) ,modda in law (husband modda) call de non communicative dawta to tell ar seh ar madda very sick.. the mother in law seh she do dat cause as a madda anda dawta arself she would like fi know.


so oddadawta(the lady I know) quarrel wid ar modda in law bout dis and now the madda in law tell addadawta(the lady I know) fi noh call ar house again.

Sometimes is not cutting the person out of your life per sey. A lot of parents have no relationship with their children and visa versa.......So if you have not had any form of communication/great history/closeness then there is no emotional bond.

u know apple i read where Ryan O'neal seh that him doan have nuh contact with him 3 children and it's the happiest he's ever been

i couldnt even imagine...but at the same time u have to wonder pon alla what did go on for things to stay suh now...and if the parent (especially) or child can't look back and tek responsibility for them behaviour all these years later.

hmmm - strange that I would stumble out of 'Travel &amp; Feel Good' and find this thread ...

my xxx has just in the past couple weeks estranged himself from his mother and brother ... under abusive directive given to him from his boyfriend ...

long messy story ...

married to xx for 12 years, he turned out to be Gay - no wonder I had a dreadful marriage ~

battle thru a nasty divorce - and he hooks up with 'THE love of his life' and moves to Las Vegas ~

2 years ago finds out he has a belly full of cancer ~

his family (parents and brother) visit him from England when they can - do not like how the boyfriend is handling his affairs ... try to challenge him and he demands they be cut out and no further communication is allowed between ill xxx and his family.

my son has to travel out tonight to have what may be his last visit with is father ... will try to encourage his father to mend the rift with his family .... and by doing that - expects to be cut off himself.

dreadful dysfunctional mess ....
