who giving dem kids flu shot as well as swine flu shot this year ??

I was in the Ped office on Thursday and him ask mi.

I said I am "thinking about it..weighing the pros and cons"


hear him jump up wid him farrin accent(and live a merka from donkey years)

he basically said that if the child got the regular flu shot (while waiting for the swine flu shot to become available) the patient would stand a better chance at a quicker recovery.

if the patient get one of the flu strain that they chose for that year to vaccinate again yes it will make sense but they have no guarantees

We started getting the flu shot last year.

BB has asthma so him AND his brother get the shot. (the parents should get it too, but last year me neva reach )

eta: regarding the swine flu one...me very very ...and we probably wont do it this year

oops! forgot about it.

I have gotten the flu shot for myself because I am asthmatic and have had pneumonia. What I found is while the flu was going around, the kids were fine but they would carry the germs to me (when they were in Kindergarten) but now they wash their hands & face as soon as they come home from school (in addition to before meals and bathroom of course) and none of us has gotten sick.

I plan to just up the intake of citrus fruits in addition to an all around balanced diet

I have never gotten the flu shot...

This swine flu freaks me out tho our Governor stated 2 weeks ago that one in four Californians -- or about 9 million people -- may get the bug this fall and winter.





It's not easy to decide what to do...

She normally got the flu shot each fall... last summer she got 'the flu' then started having back pains, worsening each week... within a month or so (and after a number of trips to doctor and emergency) she finally went back to hospital (basically refusing to leave until they figured out what was wrong). That was August 6... they kept her and 2-3 days later (thought she was having a stroke) she was totally paralyzed from head top to foot bottom and had to be put on a respirator. Was almost three months before she could speak again, then another 3-4 months in rehab before she could walk with a walker.

One good thing was that her case was so baffling to the med staff, that a couple months later when a man returning from int'l travel was brought in with similar symptoms -he was more easily/quickly diagnosed.



It's one of those things docs don't tell you when giving treatment <span style="font-style: italic">-(like strep throat -if you don't treat it... you stand a chance of developing scarlet fever)</span>

CB mi not buying or selling the Flu vaccine just wondered when I saw the comment as when I got the chicken pox vaccine earlier this year them tell me to make sure mi dont get pregnant within 4 weeks (a nurse told me one a way them really not sure how it will affector not affect anything).
