Any parents have experience wid dis?

Mi mom give it to mi last time mi was in JA. She insist mi tek it an gi Sar fi increase di pickney appetite cah she picky but tru Sar was taking Flintstones already so mi decide fi mek her finish it out. Anyway it done an mi jus start her pan di Tres Orix. It suppose to mek her waan nyam but instead she a sleep weh di whole day an she very sluggish. The dosage information not too clear to me..it says fi take it twice a day but i dont know if is 1 teaspoon twice a day or half teaspoon twice a day...anyways mi go di safe and lazy route an give her 1 teaspoon a day.

Considering taking her off it but I wanna hear other parents experience with it first.

I have never used this product, and until today, had never heard of it. In doing a search on the internet, I found one web page that says it has vitamins in it, and another AllExperts answer that says it contains cyproheptadine. If it's vitamins, you have to make sure it is an appropriate dose for a baby. I don't have the list of ingredients, so I can't tell you if it is ok. Cyproheptadine is an antihistamine, that also has a side effect of stimulating the appetite. It can cause drowsiness or irritability, just like other antihistamines. Check with the baby's doctor to make sure this medication is ok for your baby.

Dr gave it to me for adale ... It might not improve the appetite to the expectation of some people cause it didnt for him ...at least what I expected when I went back to the doc they were satisfied with what he was eating \0/ what do I know... others have told me it made their children nyam like farma horse so I think it affects each child in a different way and btw I had to wait almost a whole month to really see the little effect it had.

Jamaica mi shame fi say mi only carry this pickney go doctor when him sick (since mi come here) mi need fi make one appt at the pedi. fi him.

why do you need her to eat more ? is her Pediatrician concerned with her weight ? maybe she just meant to be petite/small ?

yes dem concerned...both of my kids are petite but height weight proportional so mi do believe that they r the size they were meant to be...

well sorry to say that all mi can say is to change yuh pediatrician to one who shares your beliefs and so on etc. him/her sound like a broken record, and him/her must know by now seh she eating as much as she can. suh unless dem gwine force feed her (like dem do to children in other parts of the world) them need fi put a sock in it already.


some of them have office policies/beliefs that clash with the parents ideas of how they want to raise their children.

Gen me was not so impressed with the little adale would eat and I think they gave me the tres orix to appease me ... as I said when I went back they were quite comfortable with what he was eating and tell me fi leff the pickney alone ... basically skells if them eating a variety of foods then I wouldnt worry too much about it. I thought you wanted them to eat more but not every child will fit into the mould they created when they came up with the charts to determine size by age.

Mi think u need to consider changing doctors healthy is more important than them nyaming dung the place and then u find out say them obese or have heart prob cause them end up in the acceptable range but them likkle heart cyaan manage that amount of work.

exactly, not because dem a Dr mean seh dem know every ting.

I listen to the Ped's supposedly expert advice, but at the end of the day, unless it life threatening mi usually do what mi want and what in tune wid my beliefs.


mek mi tell unnu something, I remember growing up in JA and mi used to eat 4 teaspoon a food at every meal, and back in those days yuh couldnt get up from the table till yuh clean off yuh plate mi used to put the food in mi mouth and then tek the drinks and swallow like tablet fi try mek it guh dung

and all the siddung mi siddung deh the food wasnt passing mi choat hole

is a good ting mi naturally skinny or mi wouldan favah killer whale

now dat mi looking back nuh child abuse that

u nuh. u always buck up pon them people who seh how them neva used to eat when dem was younger..my sister was like that, and she survived to tell the tale (of two hour dinners, cause she and mommy used to sit down at the table togedda till she finish her food )
