I'm in a little dilemma
Adale understands that we don't celebrate some holidays and days that others celebrate and I think he is fine with it because as soon as something new comes up he'll come home and ask do we celebrate this or that.


Yesterday he told me they will be having Halloween costume party at both his school and day care and that means he's not going to school ... Now the school and the daycare have an understanding of what him can participate in and what him cant so we have no problems.

Since he is concerned about it do I insist on him going or do what him want? I asked him why he wasnt supposed to go and he said because he doesnt celebrate halloween.

He said he isn't going so I take it he doesn't want to go... I have no problem with him going to school for school ... I know at the preschool they would have him do other crafts instead of the xmas or halloween stuff so I expect the school (going to pay them a visit tomorrow) will do the same.

if him say him want to stay home i think u should keep him home. Maybe at his age him no want to deal with/ or know how to explain to his peer that he doen't participate for x y z reasons....mek mi read dat over seef it mek no senese

yes it mek sense. maybe him dont want to be left out and him rather be home dan answer questions or be on the outside looking in....boy twiny u have a good son. some kids would be comming home bawlinga nd pestering to to do what "everybody" is doing.

Vegas while I am telling him we dont do this or that I give him the explanation why ...I didnt like when my parents told me I cant do things without helping me understand why so I try not to do the same to him cause him may just be like me and want to try them. Plus while we dont celebrate say halloween there is nothing wrong with him doing crafts that are Fall based or thanksgiving and in the winter there is the whole snow and other winter things minus the xmas element so he has his share of entertainment. I dont believe I should deprive him of those because the 2 things happen to be the same time ...
