Sarah starting preschool...she did fine on her trial day...but mi worried about me not being there....mi worried she will have bathroom accidents...especially at nap time...an dat she will bawl wen she know mi not dere...she was supposed to start fulltime pon monday but mi had anxiety an put it off til nex monday....

Sarah get diagnosed wid asthma I do not know what her trigger is but right now wid di work going on I can bet dust is numero uno... Wat mi muss do



Abi going to have a speech pathologist come look at her. She really does not speak much...she babbles, babbles the words to ABC and Twinkle Twinkle as well as other songs, she counts to 10 in her own language...waaah (1) dooo (2) geeee (3) ....she can say many words but you have to prompt her to say it. I did a list of words she can say and she is up to 30. She says "thank you" , "num num" , "uh oh", "mama", "daddy" and "woof" on her own...everything else mi have to ask her to say it and she will repeat it. Should I be worried???

for Sarah u sending a change of clothes right? them can just change her if there are any accidents

the dr put her on any medication? sarah that is for the asthma.


I had LB evaluated by a speech therapist (can't remember the exact title), when he was three. She said he was fine (and noted that he had a bit of an accent probably picked up at home , this was when we had just moved back from jamaica

anyway him talk (and talk and talk ) perfeckly fine now. no problems at all.

A-evaluation at her age mi would say no, not yet. each child progresses at different speeds.

if yuh need peace of mind then go for it. I didnt have one done till about 6 ish going on 7


S-hush, the anxiety for you will get better. juss nuh badda mek she know seh YOU have anxiety cause it will mek SHE have anxiety

oh yes same ting happen to mi-the pathologist tell mi seh likklegen had some sort of accent BOAL

yes i agree with gen. but i did it with LB for peace of mind at that time. she noted that he had difficulty pronouncing certain letters, but that it would improve as he got older, and it did.

Watch her good, you will learn her triggers...
Not sure what else you can do... the Doctors told me that the scratch test for allergies would not be accurate until Imanni was older.

I am with CB about Abi... I think every kid develop at dem own pace. See the speech expert, but try not to worry.

Hush, Skells. It's harder on you than the girls . They'll adjust.

Yes, start Sarah off with part-time pre-school if possible. She'll have accidents in the beginning, but those will stop soon.

How about a hearing test for Abi? It's amazing how a good audiologist test young children's hearing. My younger son had speech issues related to his constant ear infections that compromised his hearing in turn compromising speech development.

Also, the younger sibling is always harder to come around speech-wise. After all, they have an older sibling to speak for them!

yes the Ped (and books ) assured me that certain letters they will have problems with

for example <span style="font-weight: bold">v</span> versus <span style="font-weight: bold">b</span>

and others weh mi cant membah

so up till about 6 ish I was told it kinda common but likklegen did a tek har sweet time man fi distinguish the words, turns out she has a slight &quot;lisp&quot; too and so do I

early days yet. if u think that's the problem then make a conscious effort to talk to her more

it will be ok

my first born has asthma too and come spring and fall i have to be vigilant with him allergy medication.

i think the daycare ppl usually try to do the same thing. i think they have them on a schedule too to prevent accidents. and if they dont, maybe you can ask them to do it. i know they honored my request when i asked for my little one.
