Yes they did. When they <span style="font-style: italic">did not </span>share, I would ask. Mi nevah fraid fi hopen mi mout an ask dem if dem was tinking bout rooksing and if they were, then dem mus wear condoms which I freely provided by stocking it in their bathroom . But, as many of us know, teenage boys are not the brightest among the human species ... mi used to count how many condoms missing from the 40-pack to have a sense on what dem doing But really, they weren't getting too much

My mother's friend used to call her daughter every morning, when she was away at college, to remind her to take her BC pill.

not sure how old her daughter was when they started with the birth control though

Well Vegas, I would be very open with my teenage daughter. I would make sure that if she is sexually active that she is well versed in safe sex.

Yep, very open with my son, had the talk and preach, preach about using a condom if he's going to have sex.

Him did even bring home one of him friends for me to talk to. Me did nervous but did it.

My mother raised five of us girls. She was very open about these things and not opposed to birth control, etc. These were the days when Panther and Pearl were on billboards everywhere and Family Planning was all over TV (with one of my teachers from high school acting on the commercial on TV . We also had a pretty forward-thinking sex education at our girls school in Kingston.

That being said, my mother always warned us that if we EVER got pregnant, our lives would be OVER and we would have to be HAIR DRESSER for the rest of out lives and haffi RE-STRING BAGGY cause das how PICKNEY wi mek yuh end up inna POOR HOUSE. That scared the bejezas out of me and I never had sex. Ever.
