Was talking to a friend on the weekend so when I asked him about his daughter he told me she was in 3rd form and was interested in boys. I told him that was normal. He said he didn't know and what should he do. (her mother hates me with a passion so I didn't even ask about her)

Well I told him to talk to her about the whole sex thing and show her the possibility of an unplanned pregnancy and possible STIs and that there would be a life time of opportunity for sex when she is an adult so there is no need for her to hurry... I told him to do it in a way that they can both communicate so she doesn't start hiding things cause that is the easiest way for her to get hurt.

Back in my day if I dropped of school because of pregnancy I would be joining the heap of unwed mothers who breed back to back and collect food stamp and have to go to the public clinic plus my mother would kill me so no sex

I got a book to read.

and that was it. no further discussion...well except for the no sex no sex message.

I was smart enough to get on birth control @ 17(but dem neva know bout it)

No not her. But it was a science teacher who left teaching later and worked with Tuff Gong records.

it was an expression my grandmother used to her daughters, then my mother to us, but which I can't use to my children . In the very old days, baggies were hand-strung with elastic and, by the time the elastic broke, the baggies were usually old and good to only be thrown out I suppose. You would have to be desperately short of funds if you had to re-string di baggy.
