So Bre have a cellphone. So mi had to call the company jus now about a concern so sayka de phone is in Bre's name she as a child had to come on the phone and give dem verbal consent for me to talk to dem.

She has had the phone for a while and I never had that problem before. Even though I explained that she is an underage child and I was the one that purchased the phone and they have my information.

I guess thats what happens when companies out sources cause after the call mi ask dem man wey him located and him sey the Phillipines

the Billing is not her name...dont you see where I said that they have my information...but her name is on it as the user of the phone.

Anywyas I went to the the phone store and I told them what happened and they said he was wrong to ask to speka to the minor child...

oh it mussie different up there . mi have 2 phone pan my account and a my name pan di 2 phone dem . down here dem nuh ask who using di phone and even if dem did ask mi wasnt gwine tell dem.

as soon as her name is linked to anything the junk mail/ offers start pouring in and mi cant badda wid dat.

My daughter received her cell phone as a graduation gift on the NIGHT she walked across the stage and finished her high school education. Prior to that, I saw no need for her to have a cell phone. We managed to communicate about pick ups, drop offs, after school activities, dating, whereabouts and everything just fine.


In the meantime, I never had to worry about, texting or talking while driving, having it on in the classroom by &quot;accident&quot; and getting in trouble or having it taken by the teacher (it is against policy to have them in school here in Memphis),using it to cheat on test (yep they do that), It getting lost/stolen, dropped in the toilet out school out of a pocket, sexting, the whining for the latest model with more bells and whistles than Johnny's,inappropriate callers, Recording the video she should NOT have and then posting it on You Tube which will get her suspended or prosecuted (depending),harrassment by text messgaes, BILL overages,sneaking it under the covers to talk all night long on it instead of getting a good night's rest for school (not like you can pick up the phone edtension in your room and catch them like real parents used to do),&quot;loaning&quot; it to a friend who just happens to &quot;loose&quot; it or hands it off to someone else or puts inappropriate content on it or sends her entire phone list to someone else without her knowledge, her buying apps without my permission, just the normal parental policing and vigilance that is necessary when your child has these devices...... and guess what, we managed to grow up just fine.

Until you parents explore ALL of the possibilities of how serious this device can be, and trust me THEY know WAY more about it that you EVER will...why put such a thing into the hands of a CHILD, who at best lacks good judgement. THey probably will find out they have done something wrong WHEN they do it, and then it is too late.
I'm not altogether sure that it is the PARENT who has convinced themselves that the child &quot;needs&quot; a cell phone at a young age, or you just don't want the pressure of hearing the whining because &quot;everyone else has one.&quot;


SO you can't take back what is already done,,,,but you little modern parents, think twice before caving in , giving in to this one.

(((Sweetsop))) I know the frustration, I called my cellphone carrier the other day to find out why my bill was higher this month. The idiot woman on the line ask me what was my security code.

I gave her my social, the account number and she still said she can not access <span style="font-weight: bold">MY</span> account without the security code. The thing is that I never set up a security code (at least I dont remember setting up a code). So she said I have to go into the store and find out/set up a security code. Guess when I go in the store they will want DNA to verify who I am.
