At that age sometimes children do Not recognize the difference between action And threat of action.

Reason is the majority her knowledge do fad us learned night from rcperibut from communication.

As s result a threat being learned through communication as it is real to themact as it is to you.

That is One reason why They can be scared from Just hearing a story .
And are mistakenly seen as lyers by some.

Baby sitter decided to withhold food from my son because he didn't eat when she wanted him to. All day the kid went without eating. <span style="text-decoration: underline">Allllllll day.</span>

Her point was that he needed to know how to follow the rules and and he wasn't going to be making the rules, just following them and blah blah.

Now. How could I continue to trust someone who would withhold food from a two year old, because he didn't want to eat when she wanted him to??? How do you trust someone who starves a baby for a whole day just to make a point?

An yuh shouldan si har to - fat like mud puss... I guess the concept of not wanting to eat every flippin minute was just too radical and 'out there' for her...

And you see nothing wrong with threatening a child with a disciplinary action because they are not hungry or just don't wish to eat? Do you realise that the medical profession is moving away from the theory of putting babies on feeding schedules that fit parents (the every 3/4 hr theory) but instead establishing a pattern that makes baby and parents happy?

It doesn't have to be a threat or anything frightening to get the child to follow instructions.

In many cases teachers will use coaxing or pleasant pleading to get the child to comply with requests...even if it's only to munch and obey...and when the kids insist on their own way, that's the beginning of the breakdown in <span style="font-style: italic">who rules the roost</span>...at school or at home.

Children learn very, very early how to get their own way...and there are many healthy, sometimes fun -filled ways in curbing that desire. The teacher does not have to be a monster in helping to socialize the child.

You are quite right...teachers teach...a variety of things...including those things parents seem reluctant to teach.
Children are very resilient and they will not break.
However, if they are treated as idols and regarded as such, then we need a new post...

I have been reading a following along and trying to decide whether I can add anything of value and maybe I can.

I have been subjected to &quot;food drama&quot;' from when I was very young by my mother. Now to this day I am probably the pickiest person alive when it comes to food. I am not only very picky about what I will eat, the &quot;where&quot; is a huge factor. I will not try anything new, &amp; there are few people who's food I will eat...even though I know it was prepared in clean kitchen etc. Getting invited to a persons home is not comfortable for me most of the time. Obviously, someone dropped the ball. At probably around 3 or 4 years old, mother even dragged me to the family pediatrician with complaints that I only like &quot;such and such&quot;. He stood there and told her that as long as I will eat &quot;such and such&quot;, I really do not need forcing to eat anything else.

It's too bad she didn't listen, because I am forever plagued with a food affliction. Do I like this? No, but it is not anything I can do about.

The way I see it, THE TEACHER IS WRONG!
