So the pupil was moved from the honors class to a regular section. What a piece of audacity.

funny I use that hair product on my hair and my girls...lol...and it does have a kind of fragrance that takes getting used to...

I think the teacher should have spoken with the parent and not the child first.
The way it was handled was just wrong. If the teacher was allergic to the fragrance that is one thing and it is not the the parents gwine fi carry on bad about hair products, dem could try a next one.

students are told all the time to not wear certain products to school as it may aggravate asthma, activate allergies, etc oh and schedules of kids and teachers are changed all the time for the same reason.

now if the child is in say...elementary then a note is sent home with kid to the parents asking them to rectify. at the high school/college level we just tell the kids.

so mi nu understand the uproar.

u know me neva get nuh note like that from my school

anyway i think the uproar is that no note was sent home and the child was just told to go to another class (not honors). I believe child is in elementary school. (would have to watch again to make sure)

I'm kind of confused because later on they note that the child is not even in regular class anymore?

Hmm. I like the way that one smells.

Not sure what ingredient the teacher might be allergic to but sometimes folks are entirely too delicate and high maintenance. It makes me wonder how they managed to live so long walking round in society.

Regardless, the main issue must surely be moving the child from advanced to regular classes simply because the teacher is too fragile to cope.

I don't understand why the teacher didn't say something to the parents before removing an 8 year-old child from the class and it wasn't a disciplinary issue.

Something is up at the ironically named Thurgood Marshall Elementary School.

K...so mi watch it....

1. the parents were notified to change the kid's hair lotion. <span style="text-decoration: underline">they didn't</span>
2. school knew of teacher's allergies. <span style="text-decoration: underline">they didn't change the teachers schedule.</span>
3. kid told to go across the hall and work for the rest of the day. <span style="text-decoration: underline">to tell the truth, i'd have done the same as a temp measure. then i'd call out sick until either kid changes hair products or my schedule is changed and dare school fi charge me any days.</span>
4. parents find out. i will assume they ask for meeting, were denied. then went to school board, were denied, and then went to NAACP. <span style="text-decoration: underline">The hooplah would be a distraction, so they take the kid out of school until &quot;the hooplah dies down&quot;</span>

everyone (except the kid) in this situation....parents included are...are....sigh.
