None.
Jamaica 11th maybe comparable to USA Community College or University Freshman Year.
Of course...my opinion only.

It all depends where you went to school. Some Jamaican schools exceed the US curriculum and others are the same.If you don't fight for what you deserve, you deserve what you get.

Re: schools in JA vs. USA
But Harvard credit 6th.form for equivalent of associate degree.
A nd That is grade 14.
They down rate Jamaican education system to decieve the students.
The problem is the US does not have a national education standard.
As a result the grade level and GPA does bit have a real standard.
While Jamaica uses a single standard And That is an advantage for them.<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: CeaBee</div><div class="ubbcode-body">11th grade = 6th form? </div></div>

Re: schools in JA vs. USA
Mi agree wid Kia and Dudd () on dis one.
It really does depend on what school you go to in Ja.
Now I left Ja and come here I was the age to come to High school. I was tested and put into 11th grade even though I was chronological age for 9th grade (by US standards).
My older brother and sister tested out completely, so they went on ahead straight to University even though them age said they were to be in HS.
IMO, that seems to be the norm even now that I am a teacher in the US in public school.
Now where they try to get alot of the Carribean kids is that the school systems have started giving these ELL tests (they say Caribbean kids nu speak English, but them speak 'World English') and then will try to hold them back that way. Most immigrant parents don't know any better and just say OK. Most times the student will come out of those ELL classes within months, but it is still months they never needed in the first place.
Are there exceptions? yes. but more often what i describe is the rule.

Re: schools in JA vs. USA
You never Did GSAT or common entrance ?
The only rival to them with multiple choice is SAT. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: chantel</div><div class="ubbcode-body">The education system in the US is much easier than JA.
