Re: She's Finally Here!!!
Well, we went to our appointment today which happened to be a Hispanic clinic. The attendant immediately told me that Kimmy's Medicaid number was inactive. The Dr. explained that it was odd for a child less than 1. So I proceeded to tell them the drama we have had with the other clinics and the fact of the matter is, this is a BABY that has a cold, is congested and has a possible ear infection. I was talking to the Doctor. She told me in her broken English, that the card was invalid and they were checking on it. I could not believe her. I had asked if it were anything they could do for this sick baby.
At that point I lost it. I told them how it is a shame that I have a sick baby in their clinic and they are more concerned about a card number than taking care of her. Money was more important. Common sense would dictate that if this is a DFCS child, they will get paid! Evidently there is a fluke in the system somewhere. I got her card and made sure they know I am reporting them for this. She even refused to see the baby and bill the Agency.
I then called the Agency and gave them an earful for not having the baby's medical business in order. I told them I was taking her to the ER and I was having them billed! I then called DFCS and found out they had no idea who I was and thought Kimmy was still with the previous Foster Mother. Lack of communication and paper trails. He promised to send me everything I needed and I took Kimmy to Children's Healthcare when she got seen and DFCS was billed. She does have an ear infection. We got her 2 prescriptions and my Pharmacist filled it without a medicaid number and said to just call it in tomorrow. So she's been medicated for tonight. God is good!!!
I met a woman who "prophesied" that Kimmy is mine and will not be going home or back to her Mother. She went on to say that I must start speaking it and leave no room for doubt. Wellll...it's all about reunification with the birth mother and I don't lose sight of that, but if God has other plans for Kimmy's life, then so be it. For now, she is mine and will be treated as such and be well taken care of with all that God supplies for me to supply for her. Amen!
