Thanks Ladies! I don't know what happened in Court on yesterday because I was not able to go back. The Lawyer said I was not needed there until she request a hearing for the TPR. I wish I could have went anyhow but with my twisted knee and gas prices, I could make another long trip downtown. I did not hear from the DFCS worker today or yesterday. I do plan to call her Monday and see what was said and done. I am getting kinda exhausted but not to the point of giving up. I just feeling like I am chasing my tail sometimes with all the calls I make and getting half answers or not being informed of things that are going on.

We had a home inspection this week and the woman asked me if I wanted anymore kids. Not with what I have been thru with the one I have! If when we complete the Adoption, I may go for another one for Kimmy to have as a companion. Most likely a boy. But I can't go thru the Fostering thing again. No sir. I never knew the process could be so difficult. Not in all cases, but it had to be me. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crybaby.gif[/img] The best part is getting Kimmy for all my troubles. I would not trade her for anything/body and I'd do it all over for her. Well, we go back to court tomorrow to see what the Judge will say about a TPR. I am hoping and praying it will go in our favor. I have not heard from anyone lately.

Meanwhile, Kimmy will be 2 on the 15th. I am still trying to figure out what to do for her. Trying to find a place to have something for a handful of toddlers that won't cost a lot. We are going to VA the week of the 18th to see my Mom. It's for her birthday and mine which is the 20th. So I don't want to spend so much on a party for her when we have to rent a car and pay gas prices.

The Daycare has finally decided to help me potty train her. She will go only if asked. No volunteering for her. She's almost there though. My patience was wearing thin one while. If I did not LOVE Kimmy so much, I promise I would give up!!! I cannot take this madness we are going through. It is amazing.

We got to court on time. Actually early. Once again, we are NOT on the calendar. But, the Judge agreed to hear us as long as everybody was there. Well everybody was there but Kimmy's flim flam Attorney. He showed no interest when we went last month. It happens that the DFCS worker has a good Lawyer. She found an Attorney in private practice to act as her Child Advocate. So we had to wait until she heard her calendar and then us.

We were in well after 4. Court started at 2. The Judge went through a series of asking who has seen the minor Mom and what steps have been made to find/locate her. She was satisfied that diligent search has been made, but questioned why no one has put an ad in the paper. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bexbad.gif[/img] What in the world an ad would do when the child knows she is being sought for and does not want to be found. She is 16 and out there doing her own thing and has not given a rats behind for 16 months. How long are they going to go on this Merry-Go-Round?!

The Lawyer let out that she once agreed to turn herself in if she could be in the same home with the baby. The Lawyer said that would be my home. In who's home with what baby?! She must be out of her mind. Not in this life time. That child is off the chain and doing things that she will not be willing to give up to live in a home with rules and discipline. I would not have her anyway.

The Judge asked had "I" spoken to her. If she knows where Kimmy and I reside. No and No. She then said they had 60 days to run that ad and we are to come back in August. We are going to Virgina in a week and I feel like just not coming back. Of course, they have my Mom's address, but that's just how I feel. I am sick of the lack of concern for this child and the fact that she is NOT wanted by her family and needs to have a permanent home where she is being well taken care of. Nobody can understand their logics or lack of. If she were in a home being mistreated, they would want her to stay. Or so it seems with some cases they have where children are placed in homes and killed or molested.

DFCS did not fail to secure their contract with keeping her in their care another year. They will fight for that. But they are still calling this wishy washy cousin that claims to still be interested in getting Kimmy but has not shown up to initiate it. She's giving her one more week. For what?! I just believe that there is someone who can look into this. Apparently the Judges don't know the details of what is going on. They act like they know nothing about this case other than what they read as they are sitting on the bench and this is ridiculous. I could lose Kimmy to these relatives who have had no interest in her in almost 2 years while they delay doing what must be done. They are chasing after 2 possible Fathers. How many letters can you send to 2 men and not receive responses? How many times must you talk to relatives and get no one interested?! Then they wait a few months til it's time to go back to court and start bugging them again. I am just too frustrated for words.

Oh sweety...my heart aches for you. All I can come up with is remember this...

"What doesnt kill us makes us stronger". When you are done with this and Kimmy is YOUR legal daughter...you will be so strong that you will be able to carry the world on your shoulders along with her!!!

I know, I hear this type of encouragement all the time and I get my hopes up so high and days like yesterday just shoots it down a couple of notches. I know I am not the first or the last to go through this type of drama, but I can only focus on me and what it is doing to me. I can't get comfortable with our lives with always wondering what day/time will they decide to move her away.

The DFCS worker keeps saying she is going forward with the Adoption plan and then she goes back to if a qualified family member comes forth they will be given a chance to get her. I want to ask her what the heck is wrong with you?! How can you keep telling me one thing and doing another. You keep my hopes up and then go back to the office and start calling family members harassing them about getting Kimmy. What will it benefit her? I can't comprehend how they can go through this when they see the pattern of total neglect in caring for this child. If someone wanted her, she would be in their homes by now. Why not get one child out of the system that definitely does not need to be there? It's total madness.

What will she do? I don't know much about her other than she has that controversial Editorial page on the AJC. I had thought to call or email the I-Team at Fox 5 but I wondered what it would stir up or cause me that I will regret. I don't want to jeopardize my Adoption but I do want to get someone to look into what is going on here. It is ridiculous how they are dragging this thing out and neglecting to do things that should/could be done to speed this process along.

I had thought to call the Director of DFCS. Especially since Fulton County has been through the ringer for placing children back into homes with family and the children are dying or being abused or molested. I cannot understand why they do not want this child to be in a safe and stable home. It's beyond what my little mind can comprehend. What does it take??

I think the media would be a last resort, the attention might backfire as it might let members of her family come forward just so that they don't look like the 'bad guys' and since they look like they still want to put her with family all sort of people might pop up out of the woodwork, and it wouldn't endear you to the agency people either.

That's what I am thinking. I was going to change my car plate to say KIMMY but not knowing where her people are and if they know that is the name that we call her, I opted for my name. I don't want to put us in the spotlight. If they are not showing concern now, they will then. They don't even know what she looks like. When I wanted them to see her 14 months ago, they were not interested, so they have no need to see her now just out of curiosity.

Someone needs to let DFCS know though, that they are not doing what is best for some of the children in Care. Without profiling any particular case unless it's one that has already made the news. Like the Mom who got her baby back and beat her to death. Slung the poor child against the wall. Or the mother's boyfriends that are always killing the children while Mom is at work. Out of all the instability and lack of concern in Kimmy's family, I am shocked that they are ever entertaining placing her with any of them or even arranging visitations. It's a travesty of the system.

We are back from VA. Had a nice time. Everybody loved up on Kimmy and did not want her to leave. She had fun but she clung to me like a wet shirt. Poor tike wouldn't let me get out of her sight. I had to rest after over 8 hours of driving and my Mom said she spent the 2 hours looking from room to room and outdoors calling "Mommy!"

I called the DFCS worker while there and long story short, I vented a little in a nice way as my daughter put it. She had told me that this person was "still" interested in getting Kimmy and was coming in the Office last week. I went off. How long are they going to entertain this woman!? I found out the 1st case manager never did one thing on her case for the full year that we dealt with him. They could find nothing he did on the case in her files. He just called me with lies every few weeks. That is why we are not progressing. She has to do everything he did not do.

She says he was never communicating with this aunt/cousin at all and she had to allow her to come in and do paperwork so that they can eliminate her. Anyone who knows about fostering, knows that a foster child has to have their own room and if 2 kids of the opposite sex are at least 5 years old each, they need seperate bedrooms. Well, this woman lives in a 2 bedroom apartment with FIVE people. WHY ARE YOU EVEN TALKING TO HER!! She nor anyone else is calling or coming to the Office to get this child. They are calling/writing them begging them to take her. Why have they not asked to see her in 2 years? She's had 2 birthays with no gifts, visits or phone calls from them. They could not pick her out of a lineup of 3 babies. She allowed me to vent and encouraged it. But it was tactful and not at all rude. I was letting out frustration that Kimmy and I have to suffer because someone else did not do their job.

I called 2 days later and she said she has eliminated that person totally because she never called in. She said that after I asked for the name of the Judge, her Attorney and Kimmy's advocate. She also said if she comes back up again she will tell her she is not to be considered because she has not complied. She also went on to say she was working on the TPR packet and should have it completed by end of July for our August court date. I had to give her the benefit of the doubt that she is being honest. I have no choice. She said if she had the case from the beginning we would have been adopted after 8 months. SO I will see what happens.
