It`s not so much about whats the secret, but who and how you hear it from.

In the final analysis, whether our parents were right or wrong to keep a secret from us, at the time they made that decision they probably felt it was in our best interest.

I would try to see things that way then, if possible, ask if my parents if they are open to discuss this secret, now revealed, with me. I would forgive them or at least accept that they felt it was best for me to know. And then I would move on.

It goes without saying that is not everyting wi tell our parents ourselves. So I am sure most of us now hold secrets from our parents
