When Wendy2 was a baby ..we user to laugh at her strugggle to find her mouth to stick her thum in it. She would miss and shove her thumb in her nose! LOL The laughing stopped when at 3 months she found her mouth

Since then she has not taken that finger out her mouth! Her Dentist told me she has got to stop by age 4 (she is 4 now) or we are going to have issues with he teeth as she gets older.

I tried everything ..bribery ..rubbing bitter things on the thumb..scolding...sinkle bible. Nothing works. Shi suck aff di bitta sinting dem an spit and pit soh til dem come aff har finga

When she is sucks her thumb, it looks cute and all but I think it's time for her to stop. Any advise People keep telling mi bout wait til shi 10. Oh hell NO!!

wendy mi suck fimmi until di day gilbert lik no lie. mi modda put sinkle bible pon it, and threaten fowl doodoo but nutten never work. it was bliss fi 16 years

but gilbert not ongle tek mi satelite dish, it tek weh any comfort mi get from di finga

well needless fi say mi had to buy mi owna braces when mi get mi fuss job.

That is the reason mi give di kids a pacifier... Pacifier can take away, thumb can't!

Nagging your thumb sucker is no good for either of you. Instead, encourage her to realize how much she has grown and changed. Show her what she has left behind on her way to maturity. Point out that she no longer has use for diapers, bottles, or high chairs. Tell her how proud you are of that. Ask her what else she thinks she will give up. If she doesn't say thumb sucking, then you should suggest it.

When your child wants to give up thumb sucking, tell her about a habit you gave up and how hard it was. Then decide on a secret signal between the two of you. Comments from your child's pediatrician and dentist can work wonders. These authority figures have been a constant in his life. They can help him feel that he wants to stop sucking his thumb because he is growing up.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Consider Peer Pressure</span>
Friends are very important to this age group. Having a sleepover with friends who do not suck their thumbs can be very helpful. If your child sucks her thumb and her friends mention it, this might be the motivation she needs to stop.

Sucked mine all the way through college... yeah 20somthing.. was my comfort thingy.. being away from home and all.

I remember when my momma painted my thumbs RED.. mussi first grade, BLOOD RED mi tell ya, with regular old paint the house paint.. walked around with them stuck straight out.,.. cured me for a while, till it wear off..

right now.. my right thumb is as flat as a pancake... sometimes I wake up now and its in my mouth

Lawd 25.. Unu wossa mek mi fret now. I tried giving her the pacifier as a baby and she wanted noe of it.. shi did too busy a try study how fi get di finga ina di mout.

The back of her finger nat even pretty right yah now. The skin look chafe up.

If you look at the first pic I posted of Wendy2 in the other thread ..you can see where she will definitely need braces

Her finger is just about flat now Bandi....
