you know I wish someone had sat down with me and had a mature open conversation with me about sex before I went off to Univ.

Instead of the "don't do it" "keep yu head inna yu book" or the birth control convo.

I wish someone had sat down with me and explained about the emotional side of sex and a relationship. What my expectations should be and the potential outcomes.

Ahn mi sorry and know mi shouldnt, but sometime mi lose sleep thinking about what could be wid har up deh...knowing how she harself enter the world. Before oonu open oonu mouth, I know she isnt her mother, but mi cyan help it.

It worsa now that she mek it know that she has been down this road with other boys during the course of the convo mi shame cah mi couldnt even ask outright if she having sex. Is she have to tell me, "I am not a virgin if that is what you're trying to ask."

She seems to blieve seh this boy is different and warrant special treatment...which is totally bothering me.
Mi think she gwine do it with or without my "blessing", so mi juss haffi ban mi belly.
Mi attempts to counsel har bout proper precaution and waiting <span style="text-decoration: line-through">indefinitely </span> until she finish what mi send har up deh for appears to be falling on deaf ears.
What worry me also is that babygirlA have enough emotional tings fi sort out ahn during har formative years she neva have any proper kind of role models as far as man/woman dealings...
I am of the belief that smaddy cyan give what them nu have or know how fi use properly. Mi nu want har up deh ah &quot;try figure tings out&quot; on har back

of course she will (imo - remembering mi younger days )

that's why i dont think lecture bout after she finish school and have job and get married really going to be helpful

What is important is that she know that is not something she should take lightly. When she and the young man dating exclusively and know that them have deep feelings for each other is the right time (if there is ever such a time)

and of course condoms <span style="text-decoration: underline">and </span>birth control on her part. Kia's health cert is a good idea too.

Me as an adult still trying to figure out things...

it is a process ...the only thing I can say is that you encourage her to make responsible decisions when it comes to sex...condoms and pills as we have learnt are not sufficient...

tell her seh if she gwine dweet di young man ought to be able to submit to a full screening as should she prior to engaging in sex...

and please...tell her fi nuh bother think seh sex = love = monogamous relationship...it's not that way at 16...26...or 36..

if she can be mature, responsible and pragmatic she will be fine....i started having sex at an early age and i don't think i would have made different decisions about doing so if i had to do it all over again...

not very many women can be pragmatic when it comes to sex. Once that enter the picture them emotions usually involved.

(you and everybody else that gwine answer to dispute this, are exceptions of course. I speaking in general terms)

that's why i think she needs to be selective. hold off until she knows that the young man feeling the same way.

She coming home next weekend...is them Midterm Break.
Di bwoy is from York, PA... so them driving down together.
Mi supposed to &quot;meet him&quot; when mi pick har up in PA.
