do you have an idea of satisfactory remedies to you concerns in mind?

what will satisfy you on the bus situation?

what will satisfy you on the teacher situation?

the lunch situation?

next do you think you will see these remedies put in place? are you willing to live without any of them?

have you answered these questions for yourself?

you have to be honest wid yourself or you will be just wasting time and aggravating not just yourself but the child. Children are very aware of you angst they pick up on things..if she sense you are not happy with the school situation she will not be happy either

they probably need to clear them out to make room for the other grades to come in and if that's the case dem should mek them eat in class

school bus issue resolved for this year (and probably next year too - the bus drivers drive the same routes for years usually)

lunch - let her take a bag lunch - but don't send tupperware - lol and make sure she has a great breakfast

jacket/sweater - tape her initials/name in it - don't change up too much so she recognizes her jacket and remind her to keep track of it

bathrooms - teach her the stand up pee method - she needs to know that for any public place she might go - even the mall - those paper seat covers aren't sanitary if you place them over someone else's pee

Yes 10AM is snack time and lunch should be the earliest 11:30A.. They should just eat in their classrooms. That 10A lunchtime sounds like a leftover from the 1/2 day kindergarten days when school was 2 1/2 hrs.

yes it is normal to have 30 min for lunch and then have time for recess but it does seem that school is a bit disorganized on the lunch. Have they recently started having full day kindergarten?

Our elementary school does not have a cafeteria and it was only in the last 2 years that the kids actually eat lunch in the all purpose room. Before that, lunch was ordered using tickets and brought into the classroom. That may be an improvement that will be appreciated all around. If the school complains about the garbage, have dem move de big drums to the kindergarten classes at lunchtime. It not like the custodian cleaning the bathroom or anything at that time (sarry could not resist )

They are there from 7:45 Gen, hence early lunch ..dis is why when I found out she was not having lunch I was peeved. She eats breakfast at 7 am and for her to be in school and only having snack for the entire period..I was livid!!

ETA: Thank you for saying the last part ...yes ..it is to hurry dem out for the next grade...and you see you have already come up with a solution. The cafeteria is big enough to hold more students..why the bloody hell they are rushing these kids so much is beyond me

Unu si weh mi a seh dowe Kia? Is nat like mi a try fi bi miserable...but some this crap makes no darn sense whatsoeva! I like that idea of them having lunch in their classroom too.. Why not? I can even go as far as say ..I am sure they can sacrifice some time out of recess to allow the children to sit down an eat properly for Godsakes!!

Mi did miss yuh comments Seveen. Yuh know dere had to be plaguing problem when the bus driver sees your child and is nervous not to lose her. That driver and school officials pay special attention to her not wanting to mess up.

Yuh can tell seh dem nervous cause I told her not to get on the bus Friday because I will pick her up. Apparently, the school admin didn't believe her when she said she is not taking the bus. It was the school's VP that had to convince her that I would be picking her up instead because I told him in the meeting that I will pick her up. Di bus lef har so much time dat dem want mek sure seh shi goh pan di bus ALL di time


No changes in her jacket..just wan plain ole Navy blue sinting. I have been running several drills with her regrading bathroom and clothes. Even with the drills I am still praying for 1/10 of adult supervision or maybe that's too much to ask

see my response above.. our elementary school does not have a cafeteria so the food is brought in daily.. we never had a roach problem in our school but den again is suburbia mi deh so roaches can't get down over the raritan bridge

Seveen snack time is in the classroom. Would have roach problem for that too noh soh?
Roach only fester when yuh noh clean up di place good...sweep the floors and empty garbage daily and yuh should limit those pesky pest

All I am saying is find some way to not have the kids be so rushed to have lunch. I don't know how big the next group is that comes in after but there was a lot of room in the cafeteria that maybe they could accommodate both groups at the same time and give them all a full hour.

Jan had to walk out the cafeteria with her apple in hand eating... I am sure by the time she got to class dem might have told her to throw it away

and if you do think eating in the classroom is a viable option - write to PG county and tell them

but i know eating at my desk is like eating in the bathroom (read articles about this)

You know mi would have forgotten to send back an email if not for :
1. The VP was suppose to send me a link to a site to track student progress. Said he was going to do it right away. Naada all now

2. We talked about the website not having proper contact info for the Principal, VP and Jan's teacher. Dem was going to mek sure the site got updated. Nothing yet.

If not for the card she handed me I would not have known where to send the email..So yes mam .. mi sen wan email dis aftanoon asking for some follow up especially to #1 and 2
