I was living with my uncle at the time and dere is no way mi was gwine tell im outta shame. Luckily my cousin was our helper and took me to the store to get supplies. But like yuh mi bawl di whole day cause mi neva really know the whole science behine menstruation soh mi was fretting out hell

Yes, the instructions helped because I was completely inexperienced.

I finally had to break down and ask her what a period was about a month prior. I'm glad I asked because otherwise, i probably would have gone into a panic thinking I was hemorrhaging.

Anyway, all my friends at school were talking about it, and I hadn't the slightest idea what they were talking about. She handed me two pamphlets to read lol.

I was in 8th grade...and went to the nurse. mi was crying so hard talking to my dad on the phone that im never really could get a clear picture of what was going on.

If mi was inna mi right mind (when mi remember that day) mi woulda cuss that nurse. you know she try tell mi father to stay where im was &quot;cah she would call mi mother&quot; ?

lol Rivers....glad ur mom gave u that talk ...my mom made me feel like my body was dirty and something to be ashamed of...so that was why i was never comfortable talking to her about those matters...the sex talk was even worse..I will never forget:

My Granmere gave me a book to read and that was it. When I started she told me to stop hanging out with boys because I will get preggo

She was not someone you could could ask those type of questions.....but then granpere already filled me in on what I should know. He and I had and still do have that type of relationship.

I still thought I was dying though and my granpere giving me a hot water bag to place on my tummy and rubbing my head while cramps killing me....granpere

that man sounded just like my granpere when I just started.....down to telling me until I become sexually active I should not use tampons cause it will bruise me....and he hoping I will not be active until am bout thirty

My mom was a nurse and she was always direct and believed in telling (and calling) things the way they were. She even used my sister's dolly to demonstrate how to wear products. So I was well-prepared when it happened. My younger sister, however, was traumatized by the demonstration
