I am planning to fly - some 8+ hours - with a toddler. What are your top tips for travelling with children?

Re: Travelling with children
portable dvd players, books, small card games, walks up & down the aisle, naps ,snacks of course and gum to relieve the pressure in the ears when the plane takes offIf you don't fight for what you deserve, you deserve what you get.

Re: Travelling with children
A few people have suggested similar. I wonder why? ...He is so suspicious though. I would have to conceal it in something! I will certianly consider a portable DVD player. I've managed to find some volume controlled headphones already.

Re: Travelling with children
I was on a 3+ hrs flight and there was a toddler, 5 y.o. and 6 y.o. The 5.y.o sat next to me with the father; the 6 y.o. on the other side with the mother, and the toddler in front with the grandma. Mi sey di 5 y.o. and 6 y.o puddung one piece a terrorist fighting and a long cow bawling. Then the 2 y.o. started on a long helluva bawling as well. It was a flight from hell. The parents could not control them.
I was on an 8+hrs flight and the woman next to me had a young baby. Thankfully the baby didn't utter a sound during the entire flight. I was soooooo thankful. Mi did want to tell the mother "thank you" when the plane landed.
I'm usually irritated by parents who can't keep their children quiet and under control during long flights. As much as you can avoid it.... don't.
