Tourism fee goes into effect May 1
The Tourism Enhancement Fund is to be activated next month.
Responding to queries from opposition spokesman on Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, Tourism Minister Aloun Assamba announced that the collection of fees from visitors to the island is scheduled to start on May 1.
For his part, Mr. Bartlett expressed disappointment that an opposition member was not named to the Board.
Last year the bill establishing the fund was passed in both houses of Parliament and signed into law.
