I am looking to create a new community program that features scholarships for people in Jamaica who have aspirations but not the capital, also a drop-in internet center with classes and business writing. I am looking for a couple partners or potential board members. I would love to do this around Westmoreland/Little London/Broughton area...If there is any interest or insight out there about this subject I would love to hear it. Have a blessed day everyone...

Re: Community Project
Sounds like an excellent venture.
Do you have financing? Or is that the first item on your agenda?
What kind of scholarships do you plan on offering? High School, College, University, Trade School?7/5th of all people do not understand fractions.

Re: Community Project
Hey Pepper, to answer your questions, I am working on getting funding by filing for non profit status and then lobby and grant write for the funds. Basically I would like to give scholarships to Jamaicans who have land and want to build a house but have no money, and also for opening business and other ventures where they can sustain themselves once their financial needs are met. I've met many Jamaicans who the only barrier is not having capital to put behind their dreams. So this is all in my head still and soon will be on paper, then distributed to orgs that may want to fund my dream so that others dreams can be funded too. Thank you so much for your interest and if you have any insight I would be glad to hear it.
