seriously...we all have diff personalities so we usually attack work (whether it be working for someone else or for ourselves) based on our personality type...

runs the gamut from control freaks who will not give up a bit of responsibility to anyone else and those who decide fi guh open business and a run one likkle fool fool sinting [img]/forums/images/graemlins/704555_dwl.gif[/img]

I don't know many positions and companies that offer the kind of financial freedom and just freedom to tek off when you want to...

as much as a lot of companies are allowing employees to work from home and flextime etc...

how many of the population really qualify for such positions..you pretty much hav to be salaried with a ton of degrees..generally speaking ..course exception to the rules apply...

so for other segments of the population seeking something else working for yourself is usually the only other option..

Not necessarily, many builders, carpenters, plumbers are self employed and pretty much work to dem own pace and time nuh matter how yuh shout - any property developer will tell you that. Office and contact point is a study room in them house.

Many blue chip companies are now literally forcing people to work from home as it is cheaper for the company re: overheads and stats show that people working from home tend to put in more time than in an office with their minds on the clock to go home.

Many smaller- medium size businesses estblish and continue to run from home including family businesses. Theoretically all but a very few businesses can be run from the home. Manufacturing in certian products - even farming/agriculture on a large scale can be classed as a home run business!

up here alot of IBM has gone work from home and alot of HP has gone work from home.

My BIL works for Big USA based company and they are still very resistant to the whole work at home concept.

Yep I have worked from home for a couple years whilst working for one IT company. I found myself doing more work from home because, I wasn't watching the clock on a 9-5 basis. I found myself many times working until all 10:30pm fully aware that I don't get paid past certain amount of hours work within a day. Weekends would be normal to switch on the pc and start figgling about for hours with the software project which in essence is work - that I won't get paid for.
