HELP, I need to find a Jamaican distributer for dengue prod.

I REALLY need help. I am trying to find a company or individual with sales knowledge and background to distribute an anti dengue and malaria product in Jamaica. This has been used in Africa for 5 years and been very succesful. I need some one capable of doing the entire country of Jamaica with and existing distribution network preferably, but I would also consider an individual that is very experienced and driven. This is a great opportunity for some one to make some incredible money and do something GOOD for the people of Jamaica at the same time. We are beginning distribution in St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Coulumbia, and Costa Rica has been using this for several years also. So if you have any ideas who would be good to contact PLEASE let me know!!!!!!!! The sooner we get this product on Jamaica the sooner we can stop some deaths due to Dengue and malaria.

docb </div></div> You have tpo get a license for that. you can't sell ant product on the basis they it is a therapy without it being tested and certified. you need a drug license.
Or they will confidcate it.
There are a lot of foreign drug distributors in Jamaica, but they all have to be properly licensed. you really expect to sell some product just on the basis that it is a medication that works some place else.
And why would Jamaica be intrested in Malaria and Denge medication?
Do You think that there should be a market for it, simply because they have a few cases? Jamaica had an outbreak of malaria recently, wich has been well controlled, and Denge has been a few cases recently and similarly controlled too. There is no epidemic nor has there been any in decades there, so How viable would such a market be?
You probably need to go into somthing else. Like snake oil, or something more intresting.

I wish to thank you for your response to my plea for help in fighting Dengue and Malaria in Jamaica. Although your response was neither helpful, constuctive, or informed, it helps to prove the point that people are very mis-imformed in regards to the threat that Dengue fever poses to all of the Caribbean, Central and South Americas, which includes Jamaica. I would like to respond to your note systematically, but first I would like to provide you with a little information about myself and why I am driven to this cause, and no, it is not financial.
I am a Physician, teacher, lecturer, advisor to many Ministry of Health officials in the region, and founder and director of a mission clinic in the West Indies. I work with many non-profit organizations in an effort to reduce the number of cases of Dengue and to a lesser degree Malaria. I was at the CARICOM meeting in September of 2007 in Trinidad to speak with many goverment officials regarding this subject.

Now in response to the points you made in your note:

You said I would require a drug license for "therapy" or "medication" for the treatment of these diseases. You also made a reference to "snake oil" or "something more interesting".
Answer:
I never said that this was a "therapy" or "medication" to treat these diseases. What I said was, an "anti Dengue and Malaria Product". What we are trying to get distributed is simply a completely safe, non-toxic, deet free product that acts as an insect repellant that is safe even for children and economical. We make very little profit on the item and most goes to charity. The only reason for relating that someone can make money on the product is to inspire them to get the product out there for the public, not for any personal gain.

You ask, "why should Jamaica be interested in Malaria and Dengue medication", and that Malaria was "well controlled" and that also Dengue Fever was "well controlled" with only a "few cases".

In my many years of teaching, lecturing, and speaking with government officials, I have found it always advisable to be well informed about the subject that I intend on speaking about so that I do not make a public fool of myself. So is there a malaria problem on Jamaica? As you said, "there was but is well controlled now". And you are absolutely correct. But just as we thought TB was never to be seen again we have learned that we must always be vigilant and not "assume" any problem is "well controlled" when it comes to human life. You further stated that in regards to Dengue Fever "there is no epidemic nor has there been in decades". Dengue is most definitly a problem for Jamaica. But do not take my word for it. I believe this qualifies as more than, "a few cases".

For further information you may wish to check with both WHO (World Health Organization), and PAHO (Pan American Health Organization), both of whom have issued statements saying that in the next 2 years there will be a dramatic increase in the number of cases through out the Caribbean.

You also made a statement I found interesting, you ask:" do you really expect to sell some product just on the basis that it is a medication that works someplace else?"

Answer:
Once again you have misteken the word "product" to be synonamous with "medication". I re-state, this is NOT a medication, simply a safe, non- toxic, deet free, insect repellant.
But to further answer you queation and the premise of, "do you expect something that works someplace else to work here?", I can only answer as a trained and well experienced physician.
I have found that disease is one of the few things that crosses all barriers, location, religion, cultural, racial, political, etc. Yes, I expect that an antibiotic that works in Canada to work equally well in Brazil or Mexico to stop an infection. I also expect an insect repellant that works in Costa Rica and Africa to work in Jamaica. I am quite sure that the grocery stores in Jamaica carry "Off" products and "Cutter" products. I don't think that Jamaican mosquitos are much differnet than those on St. Kitts or St. Maarten, or any where else.

In conclusion I do wish to thank you for this opportunity to inform some people in regards to Dengue Fever. As to your invitation at the end of your note, "Join me as members of the church of LOVE, and let us change the world, one good deed at a time". </div></div><span style='font-size: 11pt'> Knowledge of nontoxic mosquito repellants are common to Jamaicans. Chrisantimum grows wild and country people know it is used as the basis for safe mosquito repellant.
It is one think to gather hews articles. nad quite another to understand the relevance of them. For one,the majority af 'suspecyeb cases of Denge in Jamaica has been just that suspected. Ther is even a case of the deathe of a 16 years old in St James that was reported as Denge related. This has been sinces discovered to be misdiagnosis.
A lot of the report involving contagious dieasess in Jamaica has been speculation,that resulted in error.
Denge Fever and Malaria is endemic in Latin America and as close as Haiti and The Dominican Republic, but transference to Jamaica has been hampered, by the very low incidence of travel and the rigid requirement that inbvolve the fumigation on every aircraft that arrive from those countries.
With regards to malaria strain that recemtly discovered, in Jamaica the strain of th edisease,was not related to any in the region,but with DNA markers of an African strain.
The supposedly big surpri the resurgence of Tubercolosis,is not or should not be a surprize to those who are aware of the what and why of it.
Isn't it a much greater surprize that although Jamaica has one of the highest density in their prison. Yet although that is the ideal conditions for the spread of TB, with the number of deported ex risoners from the Us prison population. Jamaica does not have the corresponding increase in their TB cases?
The Jamaican incidences of TB has all been imported,with no incidence of conragion.
What make it so different from the US?
It is a matter of different health policies. So the upsurge in TB cases should not be used as any example ro support a denge or Malaria epidemic.
If you want to sell an insect repellant that is a different thing than to offer 'a Denge product'.
Had you stated that you were solicining market assistance for DEET free insect repellant, that would be a different atgument. You would more likely fing a more receptive audence for that. Although it will still have to meet the Bureau of Stansarts require,emts,which I trust you or your associates could achieve,but any attempt to offer any product dor the Jamaican market that has any theraputic or medical claim require scientific proof sibmitted and confirmed my the revelent Departments.
Did you choose antibiotic to check my knowledge of theefficasy of drugs, When you stated the following? I expect that an antibiotic that works in Canada to work equally well in Brazil or Mexico to stop an infection. .
Because it is common knowledge that antibiotics doe not work equally well in all communities. They work morte effective in communities that they are alien to. For instance ther are may places wher we can first generation antibiotics like Pennicilin will function effectively, and in many places, nothing less than Pennicilinase resistant pennicilins can be used to treat the same diseases.
Even insect repellants anve been known to be ineffective against insects that have developed immunity through adoption.
What is th ename of your Nonprofit, you operate in the Caribbean. I could possibly be of some assistance in it who knows.
