Natural Fruit/Smoothie Business

I am thinking of returning to Jamaica in a short while, and was thinking of starting a natural fruit juice/smoothie business. I have done a lot of research and have everything that I need to know. Do you think this would be a viable business and any particular part of the island would be best to start this business?

Thank you. </div></div>It depends on the scale,fruits,business models, locations if you are planning retail segment and abillity to manitain reliable stocks of fruits.
With All these areas adequately covered, it should most likely be a success.

Well those businesses do very well up here. Whether Jamaica will be another story or not I'm not sure but I think it could work.

If the target market is local , I would go for corporate area. if the market is visitors,I would go for Negril, Ocho Rios, Mo Bay, etc.
As your popularity increase, you could look at broadening your footprint.
It really cpmes down to the business model.

I wish you luck on your venture. </div></div> Jamaica has a few very successfil fresh fruit juice business, but they are usually small, family run, 1 or 2 outlet outfits.
A more famous smoothie operation like Devon House's 'I-scream'. Which is a fruit-smoothie and ice-cream concoction.

Location is everything! You must be in an area where most people can afford them and want to eat/drink healthy Good luck!

I know of one in kingston and they tend to be doing very well. I guess because Jamaicans are getting health conscious and would rather natural juices. Another thing as most ppl mention, location is key. Try to have it in a business shopping centre or food centre.

What do you knoe abour the history of healthy living in Jamaica?

Do you think that because you don't see some aspect of Jamaican
business advertize to tourism, they don't exist?

Or they have come into existence just about when you become aware that rhey are there?

Jamaicans are indeed health conscious, and have been for a long time. I would definitely look at a shopping center where there is a lot of traffic. People would be getting quality, fresh, natural juice. Will they be willing to pay the price? I dont know, however I will have to take everything into consideration. I am still doing all the research that I can.
