Re: Annual Fee Credit Card
Sweets, as you live in Canada you can relate.
I like my (no annual fee) PC Financial Mastercard. The only reason I say so is that I charge absolutely everything to it and I have always paid it off on a monthly basis. You will collect PC points with the card every time you make a purchase (one cent on every dollar with no expiration date). As a result I usually receive what amounts to approx two or three weeks worth of groceries when shopping affiliated stores each year when I cash in my points.
The interest rate is high, almost 20% I think so if you are not paying your bill on time this can be an issue. However, like most credit cards, if you phone customer service and complain (threaten to switch to a different bank) they will lower the interest rate in an attempt to keep you as a customer.
It also extends your warranty for most items by one year if purchased with the card. It also will replace items that are lost, stolen or damaged within 90 days of purchased, again, if you use your card to buy the product.
I think the big thing is, whatever card you get, make sure the rewards you receive do not expire over time.
