True - its an employer's market. Same After 911 salaries plunged because they wan an influx of laid off people back then.

Mi noh know if dat is wise for companies to do dowe. I took a meager slary then because I had to get back in the workforce but as soon as the econmomy picked up I showed them the peace sign. Yuh cyna sustain quality workers with that tactic.

I am in the DC area too foolya an you are so right. Mi always happy bout di Job opportunities in this area The blessing is that we have three States to choose from (DC, VA, MD) all of which have very prominent companies especially if you are in IT.

I just recenlty got a new job and still getting calls for other offers. YIKES The offers are so lucrative dat mi tempted fi move again . I also conviced a friend of mind who was laid off (teaching) to move from SC to this area and in one month she was employed Mi so glad fi har.

I think that many of the big super market chains and Kmart also hire part time to avoid paying benefits.
