2 children almost drowned today. african american children.

if it wasn't for a man and his son on the pier jumping in they would have been swept out.

one is still in the hospital

the parents were interviewed on the news and what were the plans after this one child got out of the hospital ?

Problem #1 = people are going into the water after 5P when the lifeguards leave. It is a rule that all people must come out of the water at that time

Problem #2= beaches are not free in NJ and beach passes are good until 5pm so people looking for freeness go into the water that time of day.

Solution #1 = expand the time the lifeguards are on duty to 7 or 8PM.. and expand the beach fees to 7 or 8P as well

Kia while I kinna agree bout the freeness thingy....a lifeguard can do only so much. having lifeguards on duty not gwine do much. Before mi lef MD mi tyad fi hear how much people go under in Ocean City, even with lifeguards. The sad thing is that once them disappear the Life Guard just send word up to Cape May fi look fi smaddy that will wash ashore up deh in 5-7 days. Like clockwork...them find them.

People can help themselves by simply learning to swim. Period. Nobody not telling them fi tun into Michael Phelps, but a basic class will at least teach you how to float. And floating can buy you some time till smaddy (that can swim) can reach you.

And if the basic swimming lessons is just not in you to accomplish then find youself at the mall go shop or one museum go explore. STAY AWAY FROM THE WATER.
