Parents Rope In

So Hunter a go through this ting where im only want to eat meat and maybe a mouthful of milk or water. No matter how mi try trick im by put veggies inna im gravy or blend fruit in his milk...im just wont eat it.

Mi know kids go through stages...but his seem longer than usual.

Just let him be it seems long to us but as long as he's getting something into him he'll be fine.

He'll hate vegetables and fruit until he is in a Catholic high school for boys when he has to train for a varsity team and needs to look "cut" or "buff" or whatever the term they use.

He'll hate vegetables and fruit unless he's over at a friend's house and then he comes back and tell you that Mrs. Cuevas makes the best salad he has ever had in his life.

He'll hate vegetables and fruit unless he's trying to impress a girl's parents who takes them out to dinner.

Oh sorry, that was my experience. Maybe others could offer better advice.

toddlers are self regulating dem seh.. it is a phase.. you will get a fruit &amp; veggie phase too

really there's nothing you can do but keep offering him the &quot;other&quot; foods daily, eventually he will come around and start eating them again.

if you ask him to try a mouthful of the &quot;other&quot; food BEFORE he is allowed to eat the meat on his plate and he refuses, then just give him the meat.

if you decide not to give him the meat, and he goes on strike by NOT eating anything on his plate, 3 hours later when hungry a kill him, him will eat most of what you give to him

the Ped will tell you to keep trying with a balanced meal(s) daily, this way he tries diff things, and that is all you can do. some kids have a short stage of picky eating and others it tek dem years to stop being so picky.


you can also let him know that he has to eat a mouthful (or so) of the veggies if he wants to continue to get any special treats (deserts etc), it all depends on how much patience yuh have fi a battle wid him over food.

As long as my boys are eating I am not complaining and I have one extremely picky eater in Adale, Aden on the other hand will eat almost anything but has his moments when all he want is his milk. So to you ILP as long as him getting something in they it's all good. Keep offering him the vegetables and fruit though you'll be surprised when he inhales them one day.

I also find they never refuse the frozen mixed veg so when nothing else works that's our vegetable of choice.

mi never have the patience fi fight with likklgen suh when she eat one thing straight fi bkfast, lunch and dinner, (waffles) fi 9 mths mi just mek she eat it, mi couldnt bother


mi see where seinfeld wife put out one cookbook on how to sneak veggies in muffins and other foods, but again, mi cant badda wid any a dat

She say for a whole year all I would eat was bush cabbage(collard greens) and the way grandma cooked it too.

Gen my coworker swears by that book... I dont have patience for that and maybe is how mi grow up with mi mother cooking different things all the time to accomodate the different palettes of fi har 10 pickney plus all the strays she took in.

When I make like my spaghetti and meat sauce - I kill it with veggies...

I throw every veggie I can lay hands on in there...

sweet peppers, broccoli, spinach, parsley and whatever else is handy...
I mince them up as fine as possible and add to the meat sauce and it all cooks down and she never knows that there are veggies in there and she always says I make the best meat sauce ever

Any meat dish that I am making that is saucy is always a good place to disguise veggies.

I also juice a lot of fruits - make smoothies and freeze them into pops (when she was younger - not so much now as she will eat her fruits more readily now)

I am also not above bribery...
eat your fruits and veggies every day for a month and you will get (xyz)

or for a more immediate payoff - fruits and veggies = 2 chocolates per day (reese cup variety)

Cheese also helps to disguise the taste of veggies and if he is a cheese lover that may be an enticement.

Over the years I have had those moments as Peasie said when she came back from a friends house and suddenly the very veggie she had detested for six years became the best thing she has tasted in her whole long life

Give him some time Ilpy as others have said... and keep trying... you never know when it will stick

Yup. Only meat im want. Even when im inna di kitchen bout &quot;snecks&quot;...as mi open the fridge is chicken, beef, etc im a reach for. Mi even reduce miself and try bribe im wid some ah them fruit smack tings...even though mi nu allow im fi eat them...Nope. Im dash them to the side. Gravy, if im cant get it all off im meat...im leave it on the plate.

Is bacon im eat this morning for breakfast. Di heap a meat not good for him.
Plus a my offspring im is....any pawt ah mi suppose to nyam and nyam indiscrimanently
