How do children born and raised in the exact same environment, same parents, treated exactly the same turn out to be so completely opposite?

and by opposite I mean one is an educated professional and the other is on the streets?

I believe a bit of both ... And sometimes the nurture never recognised the differences in personality etc and used the one size fit all approach which worked for one and didn't work for the other. I am already seeing the difference in my boys and looking back I see the difference in my siblings. If the parents (people of influence don't clue into difference they may very well be setting their kid up for failure. After you become an adult you cant blame your parents anymore, get up off you donkey and go do what you have to do.

DNA does some funny things.

Each child is different and parents find you have to adjust raising them to find what works to help them to be the best person they can be. Some things they cannot help and if you recognize that early and change the strategy the desired result may be achieved.
