Helping Family Out - Financially - And Then....

I had an immediate family member run into some financial difficulty recently. I GAVE them (not lent them) a substantial amount of money to help them get through their rough patch. So what do they do? They use the money to book a two week winter getaway vacation and now they are back home complaining that they are having money problems again.

You are both so right. Can't let it bother me. What is done is done! But my days of helping out others, no matter if they are family or not, is over.

I am so done with trying to help people who can't save themselves from themselves. I could never imagine taking money from family because I cry hard times and then jetting off on holiday. They are still my family and I still love them, but I have to say, I will forever see them in a different light from now on.

Speaking of helping family out: mi nephew makes over $200k/y. Him wife is also very well paid. Dem have a small child. Wheneva mi madda need anyting, de fus ting im do is stawt cry how life hard a farrin, how im have mortgage an dis an dat fi pay... If im sen har a $100, im mek a big show of it.... dis to de same ooman whe raise im... Im madda come stay wid im whe day, an im wife tun roun an waa gi har some bag a ol clothes whe she ha undaneet de furnace from year a when... dem grumble if dem feel say dem had to buy har a Timmy's...

truthfully most of my family dont ask for anything - its mainly the younger generation who want iPad, iPhone, I sitten blackberry, nike, louis vuitton... etc. too much into designer stuff at a young age.
