Sex Change For a 4 Year Old

I saw an item on the news this morning. I can't get the link to come up, I'll keep trying to get the video and/or the posted article.

Basically, I family had 4 boys. The youngest boy kept asking for girl toys and considered himself a princess, wanted to wear girl clothes, etc. The parents took him to a psych and it was determined that the child was transgender. Eventually the parents decided to go ahead with sex change surgery and now the 4 year old is living as a girl.

The plan is when the child reaches puberty, they will administer hormone suppressing drugs and give the child time to decide which gender to continue with.

di link not right. but anyway, your title and description contradicting. it sounds like they "confirmed" that the kid is trans but decided to delay treatment until puberty and let her decide then. but in the meantime they will let her be true to her femaleness by dressing as a girl and doing all the things that come with that.

sounds like a good tactic to me. it can be hard when folks don't understand that gender isn't only what is between your legs. it's good that she has a supportive family. hope it turns out ok.

I have a trans friend who went through hell - including having her parents drive her a few towns over (as an 8 year old or some such) and leave har in a store trying to abandon her caw dem never know how to deal with her being trans. she got adopted by another family and is happily living in a female body and has managed to build a relationship with her bio mom.

The child did have the sex change, but the plan is when the child reaches puberty, they will administer some type of drug to stop the changes of puberty. At that time or maybe a couple years later, they will have the child decide which sex to go with. THe video didn't give much details on that, I assume they will reverse whatever has already been done or allow the surgical changes to continue.

If you watch the video, you hear the parents say the child had the sex change and is now living happily as a little girl. They even mentioned how the changes have affected the other siblings.

If that's the case, that is plain wrong. I don't think any ethical surgeon would do that to a 4-yr old so mi question di modda story. She a look attention. These surgeries not reversible into anything functional. A penis is gutted and turned inside the body cavity to form a vagina. Good luck turning that back to a penis if the child change its mind.

I wondered where she found a doctor who agreed to perform the surgery. But then again, this is South Florida.....
