Need EASY ideas for 2yr old birthday party

The easiest thing would be to do nothing but I don't want to be the birthday Grinch - tempted as I am. Last year was a bit much. Too many people in mi likkle bity house and he had his first allergic reaction to food - egg in di birthday cake. It was a huge barf fest, hives, red eyes the whole works - in front of the wall to wall guests.



His class friends are cool but I don't know their parents.


I am okay baking his cake or cupcakes at home - send me egg free, nut free recipes. Gluten free for possible guests would be a plus.

If you're doing this at nursery school, I would find a place that makes those cupcakes and bring them in to class.

For party at home, invite 2 of his friends. Call the parents and ask about allergies saying, "Bubba is allergic to eggs and I am making vegan cupcakes. Is Madison sensitive to particular foods?"

Yep. Keep the party simple. Menu: vegan cupcakes, celery and carrot sticks with dip. Done. Then play counting game and do simple craft. Total time = 2 hours.

Good Luck! I started with first year party at my house (small house too). Yeah, about 30 people were packed into my living/dining room - in March so too cold to be outside. Dem nyam off four different kinds of chicken wings, jag (portuguese style rice & peas), veggie tray, chips and salsa/con queso, juice and softdrinks, and some just had to have beer so they made a beer run. Then cake and ice cream. then presents. The children just played with all Aniya's toys and the balloons and tear up the place.

Nanny's house have been the party destination ever since.

I was thinking of my house but less people than last year but I guess I should drop off goodies for the class. Maybe Krispy Crème donuts for the teachers and cupcakes for his class.

as for home, I just remember that there's a Jamaican lady who caters. So I have a call in to her. That would cover food. Just need a short list of invitees with a small representation of toddlers.

I don't have space for him to get lots of toys so I want to discourage gift giving. I'm thinking of billing it as a simple party so people come fi food and drinks then we can just wish him happy birthday then gwaan party.

even if yuh tell people that is ok not to bring gifts them a guh figet and end up bring. better mek dem just bring and yuh donate to the toys for tots.

Cupcakes for nursery school with all the allergens around just buy it (too much much work and expense) and tell them to lay off the icing (you would be surprised how many parents have problems with the nuff icing and sweet so them tell daycare that them children not to get it and you going end up eating it)

Train Theme Party for Aden at my house this past July

1 daycare friend (the other one couldnt come)
2 church friends
1 Yardie friend baby
(Older siblings of those children since I am not baby sitter and them parents would need to be there and they are Adale's best friends)
Time of party - make it before dinner time but after lunch (1 pm is perfect) they wont expect a full meal... yes it's the baby's party you don't need to feed the big craven ppl.
I had jerk chicken, pb&J sandwiches in the shape of trains, train shaped cookies, cupcakes with train toppers (very little icing), bottled water, juice, fruit, veggies, chips, cheetos candy sticks (1 for each child), kettle corn.


Activities

I bought plaster trains at the dollar store (no where else had them so I win), paint, paint brushes (I was going to make smocks but my niece decided she would supervise so we had no ruined clothes)
I printed off train colouring pages and made markers and crayons available
Nuff balloons ( never new balloons could be so entertaining)
Had a Thomas video for them to watch
Then set up the birthday train set and they played away.
2 hrs later not a minute later they were heading out the door with a goody bag with a wooden train whistle, the train they painted, thomas and friends stickers and a train cookie.
Didn't get too many toys instead got clothes, books etc.
