Keep meaning to tell you. I spoke with the owner. He doesn't make the patties. He buys them from Michedean. He prefers them to Tastee as the crust is thinner and more flakey. Im ave a point but Tastee has more filling and it taste better. Honesty, I can't even taste the seasoning in Michedean......this surprises me as I used to buy patties from his store on Ossington and they were delicious. I am wondering if they lose something when they are not fresh out of the oven? It could also be that my palette is totally screwed up.

Same story with Juici. I love Juici when I buy them in Jamaica but the ones you buy in the supermarket here, I dunno, something seems to be missing. Is it that patties are intended to have fresh out of the oven and not to be re-heated. That can't be right as we get some from a great store in Montreal and freeze them and they are fine. Also Tastees are fine when you re-heat them after freezing them.

Is Michedean still on Ossignton. I believe they had a place in Markham where they made patties for re-sale by other stores. If they are still on Ossington I should try them again.

So....Tastee vs Michedian vs Juici vs Golden Krust....we may as well throw them into the mix? Which do you prefer and why? Do you think patties taste better when fresh from the oven?

All this talk is making me hungry...mi gawn a Tastee.

When I went back to New York, notice that the Golden Krust near where I stayed on Long Island was closed.

Patties always taste better fresh, or slowly re-heated in a dry oven (not microwaved).

Am I alone or do you agree that Michedean have not taste...I mean no flavour whatsoever. What use is a flake, thin crust with no flavour. I would like to try one fresh as I remember when I used to get them they were nice.

By di way, mi wi tek RichD reccommendations pan JA food any time, him hav proved himself.

Sunrise, FL hav wan Bakery whe sell decent patties tuh, it deh pan di south sde ah di street (ah tink is 57th st) Dahjah, Peppah, or wan ah di odda regulars may kno. Di wan pan di north side noh taste good, an di server hav naasey attitude. If fi mi food taste dat so so, mi would ah bi di sweetest person. If yuh havent seen smaddi fi ah long time, jus goh deh goh stanup an dem wi show sooner or lata.
