Bring your own lemons!

Ya know, after the tomato scare and all the other food scare, do you know where your lemons come from?

I just caught a glimpse of tomorrow mornings Good Morning America and they are going to be discussing the lemons in restaurant/bar drinks.

This is no surprise to me after working for 17 years in the business. The lemons are cut on the run whenever you either have 15 extra seconds or need one for the drinks you're making because you ran out!
Don't think for a second that they take the time to disinfect a surface to cut them on first!

Oh...shall mention fruit flies? Sometimes they happen in the nicest and even cleanest of places because they come in on other things.

Anyway, something to think about. Ice tea with lemon anyone?

I will be waiting for GMA's take on things tomorrow morning.

No kidding! For the past several years I have bought all of my veggies at the farmers market except for onions as I just have no place to keep them. Hmmm. Maybe we need to go back to root cellars! I freeze my veggies in flat freezer bags and they hardly take any room.

Thats right Doc, Those limes sitting on a Corona lip aren't for looks.

I was south of the border for 13 days straight and didnt get sick because we squeezed lime over all our foods.

A friend of mine worked part time in an italian restaurant while in college, and she told us never to ask for lemons because of what she had seen...

&quot;Good Morning America&quot; tested lemon wedges from six popular family restaurants and what they found was more frightening than refreshing. At four restaurants, &quot;GMA&quot; found the lemons were contaminated with fecal matter, including one sample that contaminated with E. coli.

To put the lemons to the &quot;GMA&quot; test, we visited three sets of chain restaurants: Applebee's, TGI Fridays, and Chili's. All six of the causal dining restaurants were in New Jersey.
