only fi find out when mi reach home seh dem have seeds



mi nat even carry dem back cause one a dem love skin up him face when people carry back tings and mi know mi wouldan did tump him dung inna the produce aisle.

I remember when there were no seedless grapes and we would go to the back yard with a bundle of seeded ones and spit out those seeds, seeing how far we could reach. It seems to me they were more tasty grapes then.

Yes, the champagne grapes did nice.
If I liked the taste of seeded grapes, I'd eat them, but mi nah like dem so much as di red seedless ar di big black globe seedless whe tays like big balls af sweetness... if yuh get a good batch.

Up here in New England we have Concord grapes from which they make that dark purple grape juice and grape jelly.
Every year we harvest the grapes from our arbor and make grape pie. It's a tedious job because we have to pop all the grapes out of the skins to use them for pies.

Concords are what are called slipskin grapes because they just slip out of the skins when you squeeze them. You don't have to peel them.

We put the skins in a separate bowl, the &quot;eyeball&quot; part in a skillet.
The &quot;eyeballs&quot; are heated up and when hot they just melt down to juice and seeds. We then strain out the seeds and mix the juice with the skins.
It takes three cups of this mixture to make one pie.

Added to the grape mixture is a tablespoon of lemon juice 1/3 cup of flour and a cup or less of sugar and about 2 tablespoons of melted butter .

Pour into pie shell, bake at 400 degrees F for 25 minutes.

While that is cooking mix 1/2 cup flour with 1/2 cup of sugar and cut in 1/4 cup of butter till crumbly. Take the pie out after the 25 minutes and crumble the flour/sugar/butter crumbs over the top and return to the oven and cook for another 15 minutes.

Serve with vanilla ice cream.

I gotta try that one... first I gotta find me some Concord grapes.

I grew up in an area with a lot of Syrian immigrants (now they are lebanese) anyway, they make stuffed grape leaves. They serve them cold, I prefer them warm. Yummy!!
