Mi spose fi contribute a vegetarian dish. something with chickpeas, special request from my mother. she's doing the bulk of the cooking - usually turkey ham and beef, with rice and peas, rolls, salad and store bought pumpkin pie and/or apple pie with ice cream. one other sister usually makes scalloped potatoes.

i've heard that mashed potatoes with garlic and chopped rosemary is nice. never made it, though.

my menu depends on whether or not I go to see my family in Florida or not.

As for mashed potatoes, try roasting some garlic in butter and then mashing the potatoes with the garlic and garlic butter.

Do I need one of those clay garlic roaster things? or can it be done wid foil or parchment in the oven? I have never roasted garlic before

i use a small oven safe bowl, just covered with foil. I stir the garlic a couple of times while baking in a 350 degree oven. i roasted garlic for the first time for mashed potatoes a few weeks ago, it's not as hard as it seems

try sprinkling some italian seasonings in the mashed potatoes too.

Roasted garlic smashed potatoes.

Roasted garlic has a nice mellow flavor.

Cut the tip off of a bulb of garlic &amp; drizzle w olive oil sprinkle w salt &amp; pepper.
Wrap in foil &amp; roast in the oven for about half an hour at 350.

Boil your potatoes whle, use a thin skinned tater, red or white.

When your smashing your potatoes, squeeze in a couple of cloves of roasted garlic, depending on your taste, salt pepper, butter and either milk or a little light cream.

Good Question. As I'm a vegetarian I wonder what kinda of meals I could eat this Thanksgiving!?? hmm
