Does putting the bananas in a food processor before putting into the mixture cause the cake to be ruined? I have never been able to make a succesful banana cake in some time and was wondering if it mattered that the bananas were kinda liquified? Does it?Comment

I wouldn't but them in the processor. Too soupy. Use a potato masher, they don't have to be smashed perfect. Some lumps are good

Whenever I make a banana cake, I always mash. What does your recipe call for? I use a fork when I don't feel like mashing. Banana cake or bread always has a moister texture. Liquifying the banana will make the batter watery. What texture or what has been happening when you use the food processor? Is the cake rising well?Comment

No, the cake has not been rising well. It's mushy and the texture is not the proper texture. I wish I had a pic to show.Comment

OK so maybe its the baking powder?
I throw mine away after 6 months.
Or could be the oven temp? Do you have an oven thermometer to check it? I had that problem last year.
Sometimes when a cake with fruit in it (carots, zucchini etc ) doesn't rise its because the batter is too wet. Carrot cake does that when you grate the carrots in the food processor instead of by hand. They get too wet and stop the cake from rising.
Try mashing the banana instead and leave some lumps. Try a new can of baking powder and check the oven temp. Do you have the recipe handy so I can see it or is it a recipe you have in your head. (like alot of mine)

Yeah, I'm going to try mashing them by hand-hopefully that will solve the problem because there is nothing like good Banana Nut Cake!
