soh mi buy di two bag a sorrel. mi preffa di dry one dem caz the colla/flavour more rich in my opinion.

the jamaican rum is no problem.
enuff ginger fi stone --->[politically incorrect animal]

mi want mek di sorrell ASAP. so, i'm tired of the same old (x2)

please (((EVERYONE))) - your help and influence is needed in how to make the sorrell not so traditional. what different ideas would you suggest? thanks in advance.

I use red label wine sometimes. But to go non-traditional, I would substitute with any bold red wine...one that is more sweet than tart.

Sorrell is in the cranberry family. But most cranberry sauce/juice recipies I have seen usually mix the cranberries with something tart. Me nuh know if that is the taste you are trying to acquire.

Other versions....

1 - For a spritzer, fill a glass 1/3 full with sorrel and top off with sparkling water

2 - 2 lbs. freshly washed red Sorrel, 1 &amp; 1/2 quarts water, piece of ginger (about 6 inches long) peeled and smashed, 1/2 cup white rum (overproof Jamaican if available or substitute as long as it’s white) AND... 2 cups dry Red wine, white sugar to taste

3 - African version -Jus de Bissap - <span style="font-weight: bold">ADD one or two </span>of the following optional flavorings:

..sprig of mint
..one-half teaspoon vanilla extract
..one-half teaspoon grated fresh ginger root
..one teaspoon orange-flower water
..one half cup lemon juice
..one cup pineapple juice or orange juice

I have mixed both. It mek a nice thick, strong sorrel.

I'm not very familiar with Sorrel, have had it once or twice, but vanilla extract makes anything nice.
