As the vege man rolled up into my yard yesterday in his old truck along with his wife, he got out an called to me, what can I get you today miss, I replied, just 2 pounds of sorrel please.
My neighbor said, you buy sorrel every week, must love it, I said, love it bad and after all this is the season.
Every week I buy 2 pounds from him, wash it, clean in add my ginger, boil and steep it. Add sugar (no rum yet, I'm waiting till later in the month to start adding that) let it set, then fill my bottles. Some I drink, some I give away to friends and neighbors and others I put into the freezer and use them throughout the week. Luckily I have a big 3 gallon pot I once used for canning fruit, so it holds a good amount.
