Didn't make sense to me either but like you, I assume it was last spring when they had the problem. I don't buy maple syrup often enough to notice a sudden rise in price but I'll take a look next time I'm at the supermarket

Yes, I can get real maple syrup in the grocery store, same aisle as Aunt Jemima &amp; Log Cabin. Some are in plastic jugs, glass bottles or square cans.

Not even sure what the brand names are, usually they're from Vermont or Canada or New Hampshire. You'll always pay more in a touristy kinda shop. I haven't had a bad one yet.

I find the syrup at the grocery store is watered down so I much prefer to buy it at the farmers market or get some direct from someone that makes it when it's fresh! Same way with honey I'll get that at farmer market, enough to last the winter.

until bout a year ago the closest i'd been to real maple syrup was reading about when Pa showed Laura how to draw the sap from the maple tree so it drips onto the snow and forms frozen maple treat

4 yrs a go a colleague gave me a bottle that i finally opened last yr now I'm hooked. Lamothes Sugar House Dark Amber..this stuff is unbelievable delish...I've tried others since then..they've been good..but no comparison to Lamothes

if so, mix brown sugah, buttah, milk an mek fi yuh own <span style="font-style: italic">you can also add 'extract' for a variety of different flavors</span>
