So I was reading dat article pon di front page bout the Jamaican wedding and that got me thinking bout Jamaican wedding cake, specifically the icing...di icing is sooo good, is it the rum from the cake seep up inna it? What is dem silver ball dem dat they put on dem? Mi long fi eat some... just thought I would share....
well I just found out the proper names for dem and the info is but me would eat dem same way. Oh one other question I have is, is the wedding cake the same christmas/black cake or is it a different recipe?
Dragees (pronounced "Dra-jeys" are those little metallic balls that we all remember on holiday cookies. They are safe to eat, <span style="font-weight: bold">but should be removed before serving because of the real metal coating</span>. (That means they won't hurt you if you eat them, they do have a sugar center, it's just that the FDA has recommended that they are for decorative use only, and they are technically not a food item). They do add a beautiful and elegant look to wedding cakes, birthday cakes and holiday items.
