Tormaresca NePriCa 2007(Italy)

Argiolas Costera (Sardinia, Italy)
Cannouau grapes

Juan Gil 2006 (Spain)

David Bruce Petite Syrah (California, central coast)

I think a Shiraz would be a safe start for you. It is middle of the road I think as to not overwhelm.

If you can find the label <span style="font-weight: bold">Painted Turtle</span> Cabernet Sauvignon, give it a try. Again easily drinkable for just about everyone I find. The person who I tried it with first, his wife drinks it and she isnt a fan of reds over all.

Going to wine store today to replenish my supply.

Also going to buy some Appleton white to make mojitos this weekend for party next door. Have nuff mint in yard. Going to find some sugar cane to use as mojito swizzle sticks.</span>

Sryahs and/or Shiraz's arent as tannic tasting as other types of red wines. So, they are good places for ppl to start or try if they arent to keen with reds as a general rule.

Also, there is a grape called Sangiovese which you would find in the Italian section, would be a next one as well. Similar structure to the Sryahs (might be the same grape but processed differently..memory not too sharp at the moment).

I drink that wine like beer Good with spicy stuff like curry or peppers, and again not alot of tannic in it.

The older the red wine the more the tannins settle down on the other types but that is when starts to clear the $15 mark real quick

so I just came back from the liquor store looking for these two:

but they dont carry them

I need to go to one next speciality store and there is a good one I know but it isnt close to home. Since I feel to not drive that much today, I'll check for it in the week.

However

I got to sample two really really nice ones that I am sure you in America can find:

1. <span style="font-weight: bold">The Little Penguin</span> - South Eastern Australia Shiraz 2007
Mrs Blue, you will enjoy this one. Very low on tannins and is slightly fruity tasting.

2. <span style="font-weight: bold">Toscolo</span> - Italian Chianti 2006. All I can say is beautiful a salesperson recommended this when I couldnt find the ones above

both would be in the $15 mark in your neck of the woods as well.

A Guyanese man at the liquor store recommended I tried an aged white rum from Nicaragua, Flor de Cana, about $15 per 750 ml bottle. That was di bomb! Check this ... I had sugar cane quarted around 6 inches long soaked in Appleton Overproof over night ... I then used these as swizzlers for the mojitos. Girrrrrllll (and I am not a fan of rum or rum drinks)it was so good, it made you want to jump up and slap yuh mama!</span>

Sounds abfab!! I got a taste for drinking Mojitos in Cuba.....

As for the wine, both red and white, I always buy South African, lovely, crisp and light, and cheap!! 2 euris a bottle
