mi was watching bourdain in PR wid some likkle fish like dat and den mi membah dem. my grandmadda used to get dem fresh from guys a river and curry dem.
I believe we called them 'banga'. This man Mass Assie used to cook them up with lots of peppa and ride him bicycle on sell on Staurday evening/night. Dem did nice cook up. No refigeration during dose old time days so Mass Assie used to still sell the rotten sinting until dem done. They were plentiful after it rains. Den there was the bigger ones called 'congo fish'. These you cleaned and fry.

Only small fish mi know a sprat odda dat mi nuh know. On a side note we use to have a fish tank growing up in JA and when we run outa fish food we use to gi dem oats...do not give fish oats, it swell up dem belly an kill dem! We use to have perch, mi nat even know weh dem did come from.
