I tried the cutting out salt ting an all I have to say is man the no salt tings really taste bad

The problem is as you reduce your intake of sodium, the body also reduces the potassium it withholds too. So the amount of sodium and potassium you need for normal muscle function is not there. so the muscles start malfunction too.
The biggest problem is that the heart is a muscle too and it is much more reliant on sufficient sodium ad potassium.
some patients especially older ones suffer atrial fibrillation, that is when the heart misses beats,or quivers instead of beating.
They may not eve realize it is the heart,but they usually suffer dizziness, due to low blood perfusion of the brains.

I cant find the article I read long time ago and my memory isnt too good at the moment but the article explained how sea salt and the additional minerals it contains doesnt effect your sodium levels in the same manner as the regular iodized salt we normally use.

I remember that b/c of the article I bought some coarse seasalt from planet organic. But I still only use it sparingly. I am just not a fan of salt. Like u said, when u use nuff other herbs it isnt so bad. But I think b/c of my thyroid issues and having to cut out salt to do certain treatments for years and years, I just cant abide by the taste of salt.

My aunt has had hypertension from mi know here and I insisted on cooking with salt when I was staying with her... when she went to her doc they reduced the medication she was on ... I dont believe in no salt or too much of a low salt option either. as you say the food taste bad.

interesting thread... the &quot;d&quot; word and the &quot;hbp&quot; word runs in my famility ...

i had some blood work done, but haven't got the results back yet because i procrastinated going back for the results. the dr. is closed till real time january.


lawd... getting old sucks and blows at the same time.
