pickled oxtail ........lawd it nice so till.... mi almost slap miself....another time mi went to dis hole in de wall restaurant and de dread whe cook made stew peas with vegetables serve wid white rice...dat was finger licking good..... so share your stew peas wid what? that you love.

Mi love my stew peas wid smoked turkey neck...mi use to love it wid salt beef an oxtail....but since as mi nuh eat red meat too often now....mi experiment with the smoked Turkey neck and I have been hooked ever since....

it is pickled just like salt beef.....saw it for the first time when I lived in Fort lauderdale at the meat shop......tried it then and fell in love.

Evan I have never tried that. Can you share the receipe? Thanks .........do you serve it over white rice?

regular oxtail or pickled
scallion
onion
garlic
thyme
1 scotch bonnet pepper
two cups of red peas, soaked in water overnight
1 tin of coconut milk (optional)
black pepper
salt
pimento seeds
2 cups of flour (for spinners)

Place peas and oxtail in pot with water to boil. Boil for an hour then let simmer. Add your onion, garlic, pepper, thyme, scallion, salt, black pepper, pimento seeds and tin of coconut milk. Cook for another hour, add spinners. Serve over white rice.

I use to put fresh oxtail in mine but I am sure salt oxtail would be great too although hoxtail is soooo expensive I don't buy it much here anymore.

yes yu can use cokenat milk just as u wud in red peas soup...is it mi mekking today...sans cokenat milk
