<span style="font-weight: bold">I FOUND IT AT THE FARMERS' MARKET</span>

I when to a new farmers' market today and they had a Trini vendor selling all things Trini

He makes all his roti himself (his wife does assist) and sells out each week

I bought a TON of Dhal puri shells, aloo (?sp) puri shells and one other kind I have never heard of as well

The man makes some nice curry chicken you can use for a quick meal with the shells.


Roti is my <span style="font-weight: bold">FAVORITE </span>food in the world so I just about fainted when I saw his stand. The man call me over and say come buy your food

I had to tell him I am not a Trini but I love it just the same

Nice Nice People too
I was short cash for all that he was making me buy and they tell me not to worry, just to come back next week with it

One day I'll have someone teach me to make it but for now, I am happy to just eat it when others make it

buss up shut is another form of roti skin
but it bruck bruk up

If sistacaf sees this she can clarify but I thought Bussup-shut was a kind of roti shell. Mi nuh kno

He called them shells but that could just be cause of geographics.

All I know is I love roti/bussup-shut/orwhatever you want call it BAD

I just googled it an yes it is another type of roti called Paratha roti.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Buss up Shut or Paratha Roti is the third type of roti that I'm posting for you all. This, in my opinion, is the most favoured among the four types of roti, probably because Dhal puri (the fourth roti ) has too much work involved and the other two, Sada and Dosti, are generally eaten for breakfast or dinner. But Buss up Shut, is the one used for weddings and special occasions in Trinidad and Tobago.</span>

interesting...now daht mi memba each time that i've ever eaten wah dem call bussup-shut it was at a Trini party.

dem serve it as kind of &quot;wipe up&quot; for your plate. Making sure no gravies, etc were left.

yes that sounds right. It is mainly served at weddings and parties and it is soft enough for you to wipe your plate clean That's what you are supposed to do

I have had two servings already this afternoon and my belly stretch out now

man, I can wrap a brick in roti and eat it.
LOVE IT almost as much as I love cookie, and whenever I have a brother come up from Trainharderdad, they know better than to come off the plane without it.

Ive never had Roti or Indian food for that matter. I just watched some ladies on utube making roti very interesting techniques.

Buss up shut is very thin, soft, and flaky. It breaks apart in shreds when you tear it hence the name buss up. It is my favorite kind of roti with dahl pourri being the least favorite.
